Nikki’s first big break was working for ESPN. While for many that would have been a dream job, it was not for her. Even though she played sports and loves sports she shared “you can love something and it not be your gift.” She emphasized that everyone needs to find their thing.

In addition, Nikki talked about the need for people and businesses to pivot, to change direction. Businesses go down because people are afraid to pivot.

Nikki made a huge shift professionally in October of 2016, when she left the Tom Joyner Morning Show. She states that she made a different choice to choose her family and self-care. In this interview she talks about the process of leaving one thing to begin a new endeavor.

Nikki is a best selling author of five books. She shared her system of writing with us.

  2. Write an outline – Build a good outline to guide the writing process.
  3. Start building your platform now – Don’t wait until you get your book done to begin building a following. Start talking about the content. Share it on social media. Create a facebook group.

The biggest part of writing a book from her insights was promoting it. Nikki shared this powerful shift in thinking for many people that goes against the road block of promoting their work.

Nikki is passionate about her work now and her latest venture is the Greatful Group. It is set up to help people appreciate what they have as a catalyst for moving forward in life. The premise of her work is this:
